One of the first questions we were asked
when Thea was very young was “Boy or girl?” Second was “How old?”
These days its usually “How old?” Earlier I could answer 6 months or 9 months or nearly a year. I figured that by the time Thea reached 1 year old, it was easier to count in years instead of months. I always scratched my head at those mums who said “22 months” or “32 months” etc. WTF, mothers! There is a reason why we only have 12 months!

When we went to get Thea’s 1 year immunisations, the nurse reminded us to bring Thea back again for her 18 month vaccines. I was unsure when that would be so I brought my hands out in front of me (and in front of the nurse) and counted 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18. That’s one and a half years. OK. I know one and a half years.
